Nature provides the raw materials; Peter Schmid crafts a dialogue between the natural crystalline structures of the gemstones and avant-garde art. Patterns and structures emerge from the cobblestones streets of his historic hometown Constance as well as the off beat urban scenes Schmid encounters on his global travels. This conversation, sketched out with a 6B pencil, is formed into a collection of unique creations at his workshop and showroom, Atelier Zobel, surrounded by the Alps on the shores of Lake Constance.

Peter Schmid sees himself as both a craftsman and an artist, whose creativity is not limited by scale, materials or traditional forms. It is this ornamental interplay between contests that makes his pieces truly alluring. His metalwork holds a painterly transition between platinum, gold and silver accenting a rainbow of colours reflected by precious gems or other natural phenomenon like meteorites, fossils and baroque pearls.

Schmid adds, 'All of our work is created with respect and responsibility for the planet we live in. We work with 80% recycled materials and closely with our stone-cutters in order to promote fair trade practices. Each piece is then masterly crafted in the hands of our amazingly talented team in our own studio - with love.' The result: a unique collection of jewellery for people who strive to be distinctive and authentic.
